Edward Lee (ur. 1957 w Waszyngtonie), właściwie Lee Edward Seymour, jest autorem kilkudziesięciu książek z gatunku horroru, specjalistą od prozy ekstremalnej, wychodzącym naprzeciw oczekiwaniom czytelników spragnionych kontaktu z literaturą przekraczającą granice wszelkiego tabu.
Przez jakiś czas Lee służył w amerykańskim wojsku, a potem w siłach policyjnych stanu Maryland. Praca mundurowego nie pociągała go tak jak pisanie horrorów, lecz długo nie mógł uwolnić się od munduru. Piętnaście lat spędził dzieląc swój czas pomiędzy pracę zawodową a na poły hobbystyczne wymyślanie literackich koszmarów. Dopiero w 1997 roku udało mu się całkowicie poświęcić pisarstwu.
Autor jako jedno z głównych źródeł swoich inspiracji wymienia Howarda Philipsa Lovecrafta, którego mitom Cthulhu poświęcił serię powieści W 2006 sfilmowano jego nowelę Header.
Pseudonimy: Richard Kinion.
