Aliette de Bodard amerykańsko-francuska pisarka wietnamskiego pochodzenia, jedna z najczęściej nagradzanych autorek SF ostatnich lat; laureatka Nebuli, Locusa oraz Nagrody British Science Fiction Association, zwyciężczyni Writers of the Future, nominowana do Hugo i Nagrody im. Johna W. Campbella. Jej sztandarowym uniwersum jest Xuya – świat, w którym Chiny pierwsze odkryły Amerykę, a następnie zawojowały kosmos. Jest to uniwersum rozumnych statków, wychowywanych w mieszanych rodzinach SI oraz kosmicznych cywilizacji pochodzenia chińskiego i wietnamskiego. Aliette mieszka w Paryżu, gdzie pracuje jako inżynier komputerowy. Uwielbia gotować.
