Gregory Mark Egan (ur. 20 sierpnia 1961 roku w Perth w Australii), australijski pisarz science fiction, zdobył wykształcenie matematyczne, z zawodu programista.

Egan tworzy tzw. hard science fiction. Jego książki poruszają się wokół takich jak matematyka, czy fizyka kwantowa, a także natura świadomości, genetyka, symulacja rzeczywistości, transfer umysłu, ludzka seksualność i sztuczna inteligencja. Jest zdobywcą nagrody Hugo oraz nagrody Campbella.

Egan posiada tytuł licencjata z matematyki, zdobyty na Uniwersytecie Zachodniej Australii. Obecnie mieszka w Perth. Egan nie jeździ na konwenty, nie podpisuje swoich książek, nie ma też jego zdjęć w internecie.
