Karen Traviss to amerykańska autorka książek z cyklu Gwiezdne wojny.

Mieszka w Wiltshire, w Anglii. To główna scenarzystka gry Gears of War 3, pisarka z listy bestsellerów New York Timesa oraz USA Today, a także dziennikarka i korespondent wojenny, były oficer prasowy policji i funkcjonariusz służby pomocniczej Royal Navy.

Jest autorką pięciu powieści z serii “Star Wars: Republic Commando” - “Hard Contact”, “Triple Zero”, “True Colors” i “Order 66” i "501st", a także trzech powieści z cyklu “Star Wars: Legacy Of the Force”: “Bloodlines”, “Revelation” i “Sacrifice” oraz dwóch tomów "Clone wars" - "Clone wars" i "No prisoners". Niemal wszystkie z nich osiągnęły w Stanach Zjednoczonych statusy bestsellerów.

Równolegle tworzyła cykl powieści osadzonych w świecie legendarnej gry Gears of Wars: Pola Aspho, Jacinto w Remnant, Anvil Gate oraz Coalition's End.

Jest także autorką nominowanego do wielu nagród sześcioksiągu pod wspólnym tytułem: “Wess’har Wars” - “City of Pearls”, “Crossing the Line”, “The World Before”, “Matriarch”, “Ally” i “Judge”.
