David Andrew Gemmell (ur. 1 sierpnia 1948 w Londynie, zm. 28 lipca 2006 w Hastings) – angielski pisarz fantasy.
David Gemmell zadebiutował w 1984 roku powieścią Legenda. Jest to jego najbardziej znana książka, otwierająca cykl Saga Drenajów. Napisał ponad trzydzieści powieści, które sprzedały się w ponad milionie egzemplarzy na całym świecie. Zmarł tuż przed swoimi 58 urodzinami, dwa tygodnie po operacji pomostowania tętnic wieńcowych. Po śmierci Gemmella, jego żona Stella ukończyła Upadek królów, trzeci tom cyklu Troja.
W 2008 roku powstała nagroda literacka pamięci Davida Gemmella - David Gemmell Legend Award. Jej pierwszym laureatem zostało angielskie wydanie powieści Krew elfów Andrzeja Sapkowskiego.
