Roger Phillip Graham (20 lutego 1909 - 2 marca 1966) był amerykańskim pisarzem science fiction, który publikował najczęściej pod nazwiskiem Rog Phillips, ale używał też innych nazw. Spośród innych jego pseudonimów tylko Craig Browning wyróżnia się w tym gatunku. Najbardziej kojarzony jest z Amazing Stories, a najbardziej znany jest z krótkich opowiadań. W 1959 roku był nominowany do nagrody Hugo za opowiadanie Szczur w czaszce.

Podczas Wielkiego Kryzysu jego rodzina często zmieniała miejsce zamieszkania, gdy jego ojciec, John Alfred Graham, przemieszczał się po kraju w poszukiwaniu pracy. Drugi rok Roger spędził w Kingfisher High School w Tulsa w stanie Oklahoma. Wrócił do Spokane na studia, które ukończył na Uniwersytecie Gonzaga w 1931. Studiował także na Uniwersytecie Waszyngtońskim w Seattle. Graham był inżynierem elektrowni aż do początku II wojny światowej, kiedy pracował jako spawacz w stoczni i doker. Po wojnie został pisarzem na pełen etat, posługując się dwudziestoma różnymi pseudonimami: Clinton Ames, Drew Ames, Robert Arnette, Franklin Bah, Alexander Blade, Craig Browning, Gregg Conrad, P.F. Costello, Sanandana Kumara, Charles Lee, Charles Mann, Milton Mann, Inez McGowan, Melva Rogers, Chester Ruppert, William Carter Sawtelle, A.R. Steber, Gerald Vance, John H. Wiley i Peter Worth.

8 października 1938 roku Graham poślubił Eleanor Corę Smith, z którą mieszkał w Kirkland w stanie Waszyngton. Para rozwiodła się w 1946 roku.

Pierwszą opublikowaną pracą Grahama był kryminał „Murder Note” pod pseudonimem Charles Mann, który ukazał się w zimowym numerze „The Masked Detective” z 1943 roku. Raymond A. Palmer, redaktor „Amazing Stories”, rozpoczął karierę Grahama na polue science fiction w 1945 r., wpłacając 500 dolarów zaliczki za opowiadanie „Let Freedom Ring!”. Aby ułatwić dalszą współpracę z Palmerem i jego zastępcą redaktora, Williamem Hamlingiem, Graham przeniósł się do Evanston w stanie Illinois.

W odpowiedzi na spadającą sprzedaż Amazing, Palmer założył kolumnę z wiadomościami od fanów i recenzjami fanzinów w wydaniu Amazing Stories z marca 1948 roku, zwaną Domem Klubowym. Miał stworzyć poczucie wspólnoty wśród czytelników. Graham, obecnie oficjalny felietonista Ziffa Davisa, redagował tę kolumnę pod pseudonimem Rog Phillips, publikując aż 57 wydań, zebranych potem w osobna książkę non fiction The Club House.

Powieść Phillipsa z 1949 r., Time Trap, opublikowana przez Century Pocket Books w formacie przeznaczonym na rynek masowy, jest wymieniana jako jedna z pierwszych, jeśli nie pierwsza, oryginalnych książek science fiction w miękkiej oprawie, jakie kiedykolwiek wydrukowano. Wydawnictwo Century Books podążyło za Time Trap, publikując jego Worlds Within i World of If.


W 1957 roku Phillips ożenił się ponownie z Honey Wood. Oboje byli członkami Outlanders, znanego fanklubu science fiction na Zachodnim Wybrzeżu, a w 1958 roku Phillips został dyrektorem programowym, gdy grupa była gospodarzem szesnastej Światowej Konwencji Science Fiction, zwanej także 11. Westerconem. Phillips wyprodukował także statuetki nagrody Hugo za rok 1958.

W tym czasie Phillips powrócił na czołową pozycję pisarza science fiction, pisząc tak znaczące historie, jak: „Game Preserve” (If, październik 1957; przedruk w SF '58: The Year's Greatest Science Fiction and Fantasy Judith Merril (Gnome Press, 1958) i „The Yellow Pill” (Astounding, październik 1958; przedruk w Judith Merril's SF '59: największa fantastyka naukowa roku i Fantazja, Gnome Press, 1959). Jego thriller psychologiczny „Szczur w czaszce” (If, grudzień 1958) otrzymał nominację do nagrody Hugo.

Phillips był pod opieką lekarza przez ostatnie sześć lat swojego życia i miał mieć zaplanowaną operację serca w celu wymiany uszkodzonej zastawki. W trakcie hospitalizacji przed operacją pod koniec lutego 1966 roku zapadł w śpiączkę, z której już nie wyszedł. Zmarł 2 marca 1966 roku z powodu powikłań sercowych w wieku 56 lat.
