Henry Slesar amerykański autor science fiction, znany przede wszystkim z dobrych i licznych opowiadań. Powieść napisał tylko jedną. Jego rodzice byli żydami z Ukrainy. Rozpoczynał pracę jako copywriter - to on wymyślił hasło reklamowe: "Przerwa na kawę". Opowiadania reprezentują znakomity humor i ironie. To zwróciło uwagę producentów telewizyjnych, Slesar napisał wiele scenariuszy telewizyjnych, telenowel. Współpracował z Alfredem Hitchcokiem.
